Josh

Hello, I’m the son of the family ~ Josh!

Currently, I am enjoying studying maths, further maths, economics and physics at A-Level; planning for a career in financial economics.

Before I was thought of, my parents were sailors, so inevitably I grew my sea legs at a very early age! (About 4 months I believe…).  I have enjoyed progressing through the different yachts starting on a cruiser, enjoying a quick blast on a racer and now super cruising.  Since having Mad Monkey my passion for sailing has again been revamped and I’m now at an age where I learn new skills every time I step on board!

I have been lucky enough to explore a lot of the world already, but on this trip, we are visiting countries I hadn’t even heard of, even when doing GCSE geography!  In July 2015, I went to Malawi for a month to trek up Mount Mulanje and do charity work with under privileged school children, this was an experience I will never forget and I am hoping to develop my understanding on less economically developed countries during this trip.  Furthermore, I am proud to say I completed my Gold Duke of Edinburgh award a month before departing on the trip, so if anyone is up for a walk just bring an OS map and I’m sure I’ll be interested!

I will use this trip as a “2-year gap” prior to starting my degree in mathematics and economics; don’t be surprised if you come below deck and find me studying out of a textbook!

I look forward to greeting everybody who’s joining us on this adventure!

Josh
