After a brilliant sail across from Menorca to Mallorca we arrived in the bay of Pollensa, a picturesque yacht and fishing harbour surrounded by spectacular mountains. Here we stayed for a few days visiting the old town with its cobbled streets, shops and many restaurants. The best view was seen by climbing 320 steep steps to the monastery…but well worth it! After visiting Alcudia, the neighbouring town, by bus we sailed on to Cala Ratjada, once a little fishing harbour but now a pleasant, thriving tourist resort. From here we continued to sail south to many great anchorages, taking in some diving and snorkelling. During the past week we have experienced torrential rain, thunder and lighting and flash flooding (memories flew back from England!)… But this hasn’t dampened our spirits!
Next port of call was Palma to collect Nick from Scotland and Iris from Austria. Now it was time to party!! We found some lively bars in the picturesque harbours of Santa Ponsa and Porto Andraitx. Next stop: IBIZA!
Helen
Max and I have been sailing with Mark, Helen, Josh for 4 weeks on Mad Monkey, We would like to express our satisfaction and thanks to the family to make us feel at home. In the last 4 days we have been sailing with 2 new friends, Nick and Iris, arrived from Scotland. We sailed from Port D’Andratx to Ibiza and has been a nice adventure with fair winds.
On board everybody has in good spirit, and with sense of humour. Skipper Mark is a great guy and he has the power to convey his genuine passion for sea and sailing.
All of us share fun, adventure and bottles of wine…………at night!
Wishing Mark Hen Josh an unforgettable and epic adventure!
